AI-DAPT Holds its 5th Plenary Meeting in Berlin to Advance Platform Integration and Demonstrator Development
On 28–29 April 2026, the AI-DAPT consortium gathered in Berlin for the project’s 5th Plenary Meeting, hosted by the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (FOKUS). The two-day meeting brought together project partners from across Europe to review technical progress, strengthen collaboration across work packages, and advance the integration of the AI-DAPT platform and demonstrators.
The plenary marked an important milestone for the project as development efforts increasingly converge toward integrated platform operation and real-world demonstrator validation. Throughout the meeting, consortium members exchanged updates on ongoing activities, demonstrated pipeline functionalities, and discussed the next steps required to ensure the successful deployment and evaluation of AI-DAPT technologies.
The first day focused strongly on demonstrator progress and platform integration activities. Following project management and work package updates coordinated by ATHENA, UCY, and ZENITH, the meeting showcased the latest developments across the four AI-DAPT demonstrators:
- Demonstrator #1 – Health, led by Charité and MCS, focusing on personalised medicine and non-invasive glucose monitoring;
- Demonstrator #2 – Robotics, led by MADE;
- Demonstrator #3 – Energy, led by ZENITH;
- Demonstrator #4 – Manufacturing, led by BIBA.
Each demonstrator session included live presentations and platform demonstrations using AI-DAPT standalone services and DAVE operators. Partners presented how AI-DAPT components are being integrated into real pipeline scenarios, shared updates regarding data availability and dataset readiness, and discussed practical experiences related to pipeline execution and orchestration.
Special attention was given to the role of data readiness, interoperability, and continuous integration in enabling adaptive and trustworthy AI systems. Demonstrator leaders presented details regarding available datasets, data structures, integration workflows, and platform interactions, helping align technical development efforts across the consortium.
The meeting also included dedicated sessions for WP2 and WP3, where partners discussed the status of platform components, integration progress with DAVE, and remaining technical challenges and “grey zones” that require further refinement as the project moves closer to full demonstrator deployment.
Beyond technical coordination, the plenary provided an important opportunity for collaboration and strategic discussion among consortium members. As AI-DAPT continues evolving toward integrated and operational AI pipelines, the exchange of feedback between technology providers, demonstrator leaders, and research partners remains essential for ensuring that platform services address real-world requirements across domains.
The Berlin plenary reflects AI-DAPT’s broader mission to develop trustworthy, adaptive, and data-centric AI pipelines capable of supporting reliable deployment in complex operational environments. By combining observability, adaptability, hybrid intelligence, and human oversight, the project aims to move beyond isolated AI experimentation toward scalable and maintainable AI systems that can evolve over time.
