Highlights the Future of Adaptive and Trustworthy AI Pipelines
- Monday, 22/June/2026
- 3:00pm – 4:20pm
The AI-DAPT project successfully organized the Special Session “Advancing Adaptive and Trustworthy AI Pipelines: From Data Foundations to Lifecycle Orchestration and Analytics” during the ICE 2026 – International Conference on Engineering, Technology and Innovation, held in Porto, Portugal.
The session brought together researchers, innovators, industry representatives, and European project participants to discuss the latest advances in trustworthy, adaptive, and data-centric Artificial Intelligence. With more than 30 participants attending, the special session provided a vibrant forum for exchanging ideas, presenting new research results, and discussing the challenges associated with deploying AI systems in real-world environments.
The session was organized by Carlos Agostinho (UNINOVA), together with Theodore Dalamagas (ATHENA Research Center) and Sotiris Koussouris (Suite5), reflecting the collaborative spirit that drives AI-DAPT and the wider European AI ecosystem.
Advancing Adaptive and Trustworthy AI Pipelines
Following the panel discussion, the AI-DAPT Special Session focused on one of the project’s central themes: how to move beyond isolated AI models and towards adaptive, trustworthy, and continuously evolving AI pipelines.
The session featured presentations from AI-DAPT partners covering several key research areas, including:
- Data-centric AI methodologies and data quality management;
- AI pipeline orchestration and lifecycle management;
- Hybrid Science-AI approaches combining domain knowledge and machine learning;
- Explainability, observability, and monitoring of AI systems;
- Trustworthy AI-by-design principles;
- Real-world deployment challenges and lessons learned from demonstrators.
Beyond AI-DAPT contributions, the session also welcomed presentations from external researchers and representatives of other projects, providing complementary perspectives on emerging approaches, methodologies, and applications. These contributions enriched the discussion and demonstrated the growing interest across the research community in developing AI systems that are not only accurate, but also reliable, transparent, adaptable, and compliant with evolving societal and regulatory requirements.
The diversity of topics presented reinforced the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration when addressing the technical, ethical, and operational challenges associated with modern AI deployment.
