Who is MCS?
MCS Data Labs GmbH is a Berlin-based technology firm founded in 2013, specializing in turning complex data into actionable insights. With a core mission of “Making Complexity Simple,” the company is a key innovator in the digital health sector. MCS develops and provides the SmarKo® Health Ecosystem, an advanced platform featuring customizable AI wearable technology, integrated software, and robust data analytics capabilities. This ecosystem is designed for real-time collection and analysis of biometric and environmental data, emphasizing transparency, explainability, and regulatory compliance. The team’s expertise spans Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and healthcare analytics, enabling privacy-first, end-to-end solutions for health monitoring, prevention, and public health initiatives in Germany and across Europe.

Their role in AIDAPT
Within the AI-DAPT EU Project, MCS Data Labs plays a key role in both the Health Demonstrator and the project’s Data Observability capabilities. MCS provides the wearable hardware and sensing infrastructure that enable the collection of high-quality physiological data, forming the foundation of the non-invasive glucose monitoring use case. Building on this, MCS brings domain-specific AI and biomedical expertise to support the Charite and other partners in the development of science-guided, trustworthy AI pipelines, ensuring that data quality, signal reliability, and model behaviour are continuously monitored and understood. MCS is also leading the development of T2.4 – Data Observability component that provides AIDAPT users with data health monitoring throughout the lifecycle of a data pipeline. Through this dual role, MCS helps bridge real-world health data acquisition with adaptive, transparent AI systems, supporting personalised medicine while keeping humans firmly in the loop.
